Subcontracts Program Manager

• Oversee Subcontract Management activities for allocated AIR6500 subcontracts
• Ensure the development of Supplier relationships in support of current and future AIR6500 supply chain requirements in line with the relevant phases of the program
• Establish and integrate the AIR6500 Australian Industry Capability strategy through subcontract definitisation and execution post award
• Provide input into bids and proposals
• Coordinate the negotiation of subcontracts and contract change proposals
• Assess and provide feedback to supplier bids and quotes ensuring value for money and cost principles are met

Job Highlights
Primary responsibility of the Subcontracts Program Manager is to provide effective leadership and management of subcontractor capability for the AIR6500 program from inception through to completion for allocated subcontracts of medium-high risk and complexity.

AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.

This position can be based in Adelaide SA, Melbourne VIC or Brisbane QLD.

About you:
To be successful in this position, you will have solid experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of project management practices (PMBoK, Agile), subcontractor management and subcontracts law.  Also essential to the position is the ability to establish and maintain strong supplier relationships.

Working knowledge of Earned Value Management within a defence environment would be highly regarded.
