The Sr. Financial Analyst analyzes and interprets financial data to advise and support strategic decision making and achieve business objectives. They ensure all financial reporting, operations, and transactions maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory financial policies, standards, and controls.
Essential Functions
- Ability to apply knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and cost accounting standards.
- Ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data.
- Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves.

- Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly gross margin analysis by customer type. Analyze inventory valuation and perform inventory roll forward.
- Plan, study, and collect data to determine cost of business activity like raw material, purchases, inventory, and labor.
- Coordinate with various departments within the company including IT, accounts payable, accounts receivable, receiving, shipping, production, purchasing, and others.
- Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories.
- Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory accounts by customer type and by division. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regard to cost analyses and profitability.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs; provide various reports to management.
- Maintain the Cost Accounting System; maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls.
- Performs and analyzes the annual standard cost roll.
- Ability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work onsite full time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related business major required
- 4+ years’ experience in a comparable role
- Strong cost systems background and audit experience (public or internal) preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, including very strong Excel spreadsheet skills is critical

Physical Requirements
- Routinely sit, sometimes for extended periods, and perform work using a computer
- Frequently sit, stand and/or walk
- Occasionally stoop, bend, reach, push or pull
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Occasionally spend time in the manufacturing environment to complete assigned projects (assist with inventory, verification of cycle counts, etc.) At such times, a greater amount of physical exertion, standing and walking would be required.
