What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in using data analysis and quantitative modeling techniques
  • 1 or more years of experience in planning, strategy, or equivalent role
  • Problem-solver mindset that thinks strategically with an aptitude for analysis and problem solving
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a passion for delivering results and driving projects forward
  • Able to think creatively and strategically with intellectual curiosity and self-motivation to find signals in data and understand root causes
  • Self-starter, ability to handle concurrent projects and prioritize multiple competing demands, managing the matching of resources with workload, and manage up status updates without follow-up
  • Experience with data retrieval, manipulation, joining, mining, refinement
  • Advanced Excel skills with ability to build and maintain complex models
  • Occasional travel required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Job overview and responsibilities

Within the Technical Operations (Tech Ops) Strategy & Performance team, the Senior Analyst Global Maintenance Strategy is tasked with analyzing maintenance efforts within the network to continuously align and evolve with the airline’s complex commercial and fleet objectives.  They will own a portfolio of analytical work that leverages data modeling and analytical skills to create actionable insights and craft the story of the maintenance plan. Their body of work will be the centerpiece of compelling strategies that drive maintenance footprint and planning activity. 

  • Provide analytical insights to create and drive United’s line maintenance footprint strategy
  • Research elements of Tech Ops reliability, productivity, and efficiency to identify areas of opportunity for refinement and improvement of the global line maintenance strategy
  • Perform strategic Tech Ops schedule reviews to raise divisional awareness of upcoming schedule changes, changing aircraft access opportunities and risk, and lead strategic discussions on workload scheduling and how it impacts the line maintenance network
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Tech Ops (Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Reliability and Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.) and airline teams (Network Planning, Air Operations Planning, Network Operations Center, etc.) to implement strategic direction of the maintenance footprint
