McGee Air Services, an Alaska Airlines company, is looking for a Regional Manager-HR at SEA.

The pay range is $78,260.00-$109,560.00 annually.

The function of this role is to provide support to human resource (HR) team members in leading practices of employee relations, labor relations, leaves of absence, performance management, culture development and HR systems for our station at Seattle International Airport. This working manager will proactively engage with regional station team members to identify trends and develop systems to aid in consistency of all HR functions while proactively mitigating risk. This role will partner with various levels of leadership to provide consultation and support on all HR related matters in the Portland market. This role demands a process improvement mindset that is constantly assessing and developing HR strategies that align with McGee's business strategy while ensuring we are developing sustainable workplace culture and adhering to McGee's core values.

  • Manages HR personnel and guides administrative staff who provide guidance to leadership on matters related to employee relations investigations, performance management and leave management.
  • Develops effective employee relations processes for all regional stations that foster strong union relationships in support of collaborative labor relations efforts. Works in conjunction with other Regional Manager, Human Resources on all employee relations processes to ensure company-wide consistency.
  • Advises and guides regional station leadership and team members on sensitive labor and employee relations matters including grievance and arbitration procedures; identify performance indicators and work to determine appropriate course of action.
  • Conducts investigations for sensitive employee relations matters escalated via internal HR reporting tool ("HR Connect") for all regional stations. Partners with Director, HR Operations on investigations for regional station leadership.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on labor contract to regional station leadership, team members and HR personnel; oversees processes for tracking, reviewing and ultimate resolution of team member grievances in region.
  • Guides regional station leadership and team member actions by providing interpretation and coaching/counseling related to applicable HR policies and procedures.
  • Works with corporate HR leadership to develop a case study records database to record and maintain up-to-date resolution measures taken in unique human resource situations. Performs data entry into said system for all regional stations.
  • Works with corporate HR leadership to develop a sustainable Employee Relations Investigations & Labor Relations Grievance database. Manages and/or performs data entry into said system(s) for all regional stations.
  • Strategically plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the performance of assigned HR personnel in regional stations; performs coaching and performance improvement aligned with development of HR personnel.
  • Oversees and facilitates all leaves of absence, accommodation, and Workers Compensation Return-to-Work Modified Duty programs for all regional stations in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Works with Manager, Safety & Compliance and other Regional Manager, Human Resources to act as liaison among all regional station team members on workers' compensation claims.
  • Spearheads communication and working relationships with IAM (union) representatives and shop stewards for regional stations; Participates in joint labor-management committee meetings.
  • Partners with regional leadership to assess staffing needs and trends; partners with corporate HR recruiting team to inform of upcoming staffing needs and/or trends and develops functional recruiting strategies in line with business goals.
  • Owns all regional stations productivity and HR Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). Serves as objective review expert to ensure accuracy of stations productivity data and HR KPI's.

Must haves to join our team:

  • Bachelor's Degree specializing in Human Resources, Business Management, Organizational Development, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • Five to seven years' experience working in human resources or project management field required.
  • Specialized training in employment law, employee relations, or preventive labor relations, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the executive team that provides overall company leadership and direction required.
  • Proven ability to make a significant contribution to the development of policy or strategy required.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with strong multitasking capabilities required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong presentation skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement, preferred.
  • Flexibility to support travel (approximately 30%) required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
