The MS&B Business Development & Strategy organization is looking for a Senior Business Development Manager who will be responsible for shaping the market and capturing new business within the Boeing Defense Mobility, Surveillance, and Bomber division.  This position will report to the Director of Global Reach located in St. Louis, MO. As the Business Development Manager, you will be accountable for leading sales and campaign activities for Executive Transport and Surveillance aircraft within the Global Reach pillar in accordance with Boeing processes.

A successful candidate will maintain strong industry awareness, possess market environment analysis skills, and have ability to establish and manage partnerships. Additionally, a successful candidate will have strong strategy background and networking skills, business and financial acumen, and the ability to work closely with technical experts.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees planning, developing and managing sales and marketing campaigns.
  • Identify future business opportunities and promote the value of Boeing portfolio and partnership.
  • Initiate and advance customer relationships to be accepted as a trusted business partner by the customer.
  • Establishes, maintains, and expands network to proactively identify and address customer needs while keeping lines of communication open
  • Primary focus will be to interface directly with the customer decision makers to shape the market and optimize the business cases for new products, technologies and services.
  • Manage, coach, train and mentor direct reports
  • Consult and influence decisions of Boeing senior level executives regarding business goals and objectives.
  • Manage the gated process and ensure strong cross functional coordination
  • Obtain and leverage detailed understanding of the customers' processes, procedures, techniques, organizations and culture.
  • Lead review process with management by balancing customer expectations and Boeing resources.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in Aerospace & Defense Industry and/or the military
  • Experience managing and leading a team
  • Experience developing and maintaining close customer relationships
  • Experience both written and verbal, with public speaking and frequent interactions with senior-level management
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in Aerospace & Defense Industry and/or the military
  • Master's Degree or higher
  • Experience working across large organizations and cross-functional groups to ensure project coordination, implementation and completion
  • Demonstrated success leading complex projects including implementing innovative solutions to project impediments
  • Experience influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders across functions
  • Skills of persuasion, negotiation, social perceptiveness, and instructing others
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills as well as relentless attitude.
  • Superior verbal communication

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation may be offered to eligible internal candidates.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 50% of the time.

Summary pay range (Seattle): $147,000 – $262,000

Summary pay range (Oklahoma City): $127,000 - $227,000
