About the Position
Pond is looking for a Director of Electrical Engineering, Power Delivery to lead our expanding team of energy professionals, focusing on substation and transmission engineering. The ideal candidate possesses 15+ years of related experience and wants to grow, collaborate, and innovate. In this position, the successful candidate will support the Power Services program for clients across the United States. Projects will span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets related to design projects. We are seeking someone who can be an independent self-starter.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Power Delivery engineering team, aligning team goals with organizational objectives.
Develop and implement processes to improve team performance, project efficiency, and client satisfaction.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, fostering trust and identifying opportunities for business growth.
Lead the design of electric transmission and substation projects, including layouts, routing, and electrical design for LV to EHV voltages.
Oversee project scoping, cost estimating, and proposal development for power delivery services.
Manage and mentor the electrical engineering team, driving technical growth, innovation, and the adoption of advanced tools and practices.
Coordinate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution, meeting budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Prepare and review engineering deliverables, including contract documents, studies, and specifications, ensuring adherence to industry and client standards.
Represent Pond at client meetings, job sites, and industry conferences.
Support multiple concurrent projects while fostering team collaboration and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, Electrical or equivalent, Master's Degree encouraged,
Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.
15+ Years of experience in related transmission and substation design services.
Experience managing/leading technical teams and providing guidance and mentorship.
Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards and design software
