What Will You Be Doing?

The Director of Inflight Experience Operations plays a pivotal role in shaping and transforming the inflight experience at Frontier Airlines. This leader drives operational excellence, customer satisfaction, safety, and employee engagement, ensuring flight attendants uphold the company’s brand promise: low fares done right. This role also champions a Culture of Caring and Recognition, fostering a positive and accountable work environment while driving innovation and cost efficiencies to revolutionize air travel.

Essential Functions

  • Lead change initiatives aligned with strategic goals and industry trends.
  • Partner with Inflight Strategy to drive operational innovation, efficiencies, and new service models.
  • Introduce new technologies and customer-focused, cost-efficient solutions (including automation).
  • Accountable for departmental KPIs including: on-time performance, dependability, customer satisfaction and onboard sales
  • Oversee flight attendant performance management, uniform compliance, and operational adherence.
  • Optimize scheduling, resource allocation, and onboard sales strategies.
  • Establish clear metrics and accountability for inflight leaders and frontline teams.
  • Elevate inflight customer experience and satisfaction.
  • Reinforce customer-centric mindset, empowering flight attendants as brand ambassadors.
  • Strategically identify and resolve service gaps, enhancing Frontier’s brand promise.
  • Inspire and develop direct reports, emphasizing accountability and operational excellence.
  • Foster collaborative culture through employee engagement, communication, recognition, and career development programs.
  • Drive Culture of Caring and Recognition, celebrating excellence.
  • Oversee and optimize a $30M+ budget, balancing financial discipline and service excellence.
  • Implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising safety or quality.
  • Drive ancillary revenue growth through onboard retail strategies.
  • Maintain performance reporting cadence for informed decisions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Airport Ops, Network Planning, Catering, and others.
  • Act as primary liaison with flight attendant union, managing relations proactively.
  • Oversee negotiations, grievance resolutions, and contract adherence.
  • Implement balanced policies addressing business and employee needs. 

Qualifications

  • BA or higher degree (or equivalent work experience).
  • 8 - 10 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a similar corporate work environment.
  • 3+ years line experience as a flight attendant (may be concurrent with management experience).
  • Proven operational, innovative, and change management leadership.
  • Prior large multifunction budget preparation experience.
  • Experience with labor relations.
  • Exceptional leadership, delegation, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Expert in on-time performance, cost control, and customer experience.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and resilience in dynamic environments.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the airline industry, including Inflight operations, and common work rules and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aviation Regulations and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to promote positive attitudes and company loyalty within a large (4000+) employee group.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to model dedication and support for company goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills evidenced by the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees (including using new ways of communications)
  • Ability to define problems and work through solutions in a team building, non-threatening manner.
  • Highly ethical and trustworthy leader that will represent and serve the employee group.

Typical office environment, adequately heated and cooled, frequent travel (multiple times per month) 

Physical Effort

Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.

Supervision Received

Considerable Latitude:  The incumbent establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives, and receives guidance in terms of broad goals.  Only the final results of work are typically reviewed.
