POSITION SUMMARY

The AR Manager/GL Accountant is responsible for all aspects full-cycle-month-end closing and manages the Accounts Receivable team (Cash Application /Collection / Billing). This position ensures the accuracy compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Entering financial data and transactions into the ledger

• Reviewing financial documents for accuracy and reconciling accounts

• Analyzing financial data and providing financial recommendations

• Ensuring financial records comply with regulatory standards

• Generating financial reports

• Collaborating with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support

• Preparing taxes or gathering tax documents

• Supporting the Auditor, Controller and other financial professionals in their duties as needed

• Communicating with customers to address any past due invoices on their account

• Generate detailed AR Aging reports

• Analyze Payment trends and contribute to steady cash flow

• Partnered with Logistics/Operations teams to ensure the billing reflects service details

• Streamlined AR processes and ensure financial accuracy

• Provide weekly AR collection status updates to management

• Process Credit applications

• Ensuring all active projects are covered by valid, binding contracts


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business-related field preferred

• CPA or MBA a plus

• 5-10 years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar environment

• Thorough knowledge of general accounting including application of general accounting theory

• Strong leadership and proven supervisory skills

• Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships

• Demonstrated mentoring, coaching, and organizational administrative skills required

• Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities

• Ability to work and interact with department and client organizations

• Strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as applicable accounting software

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines

• Strong analytical skills

• Effective problem-solving skills to identify and correct financial discrepancies

• Technical accounting skills

• Written and verbal communication skills to share accounting information when needed

• Technical skills and experience using accounting software

• Understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements

• Ability to work on a team and independently

• Strong organizational skills
